Welcome to the Kanka Academy of Kyokushin KaiKan Karate.  Here at the Academy we strive for balance in ones self mentally, physically and spiritually.  All instructors are Licensed and Certified through the IKO (International Karate Organization) under Kancho Shokie Matsui, Tokyo Japan.

Sensei Ken Hicks has over 25 years experience in Kyokushin Karate and was reaffiliated with the IKO in 1998 under the guidance of Shihan Gorai of the New York Headquarters IKO. In 2003, at the age of 37,  Sensei was selected onto the USA Fight Team and competed in the biggest Bare Knuckle Knock Down Karate Tournament in the World the 2003 World Cup, which is held every 4 years in Tokyo Japan. 

Sensei Ken also has over 10 yrs. of law enforcement experience and training, both Military and Civilian.  Sensei continues to train and push himself daily in the study of Kyokushin Karate to calm his spirit, strengthen his body and stimulate his mind and YOU are welcome to join in on the journey.
